It is usually advisable to wrap the organ completely whilst building work takes place within its vicinity, e.g. church reordering, repairs to the church roof, redecorating etc.
Pipe organs consist of many delicate and sensitive parts which can easily be damaged when fine dust is in the atmosphere.
We offer protection advice to the PCC or your architects. We can provide a covering service which takes place over two visits: the first to fully wrap the organ and console in plastic sheeting and the second to unwrap and re-tune. We can usually leave the organ playable whilst it is protected.
Organs covered over to protect them during building work include:
- French Protestant Church London
- St Paul Hook
- Carmarthen Tabernacle Baptist Chapel
- St John Tisbury
- St Patrick Wallington
